“When one hundred and fifty of the most powerful men and women in the world can meet in secret…..and plot the fate of billions and nobody even cares about it, but six football players go to lunch together and it’s in the headlines across the country, you have a reflection of the society in which that exists. And it is a sick society which is doomed to self-destruction”
-William Cooper
There is nothing more powerful than a tool that can make you believe something is true that you genuinely know to be a lie. Well into the atmosphere of a highly politicized and seemingly divided nation, as with all things, profits loom where the confusion is abundant. In the world of business, the goal of every approach usually begins and ends with profit margin and what methods work more than others. And in an industry with global reach, where influence is the most effective weapon available, the media plays a major part in the potential profit gains and losses of every major industry in the world.
In relation to news reporting, an example that has become more recognizable in recent years has been the emphatic catering to specific audiences, as opposed to consistently informing the general audience of critical information. Although it seems like a fairly simple formula for success in the media to just acquiesce to certain demographics, it is extremely complicated to do so to a degree where your objective is obvious, and still be successful.
This ultimately pits demographic against demographic and social class against social class, because interest in certain topics are different. What’s important to a local family or grassroots organization in the midwest or southern region may differ from executives and large business owners and their families living in the most highly industrialized cities. And everyone wants their needs addressed. Tech coders and financial brokers tend to want different information on news outlets on what accommodates their lives than teachers and farmers. This is the main key that makes politics so effective. Politicians, selected people that ultimately pick a group or demographic to adhere to, or lack thereof, in exchange for financial and social benefit. Along the way in many cases positive change does come to fruition.
But it's obvious that a growing number of voters want more than the exception to the rule. And the bigger the demographic the better. Politics is the ultimate long term loan on economical, education and class improvement, and is a key relationship with media giants, among others, who directly impact most of their messages to their voters. Promises have to be made to help keep the restless more restful when the results are slow to materialize.
With that taken into consideration, when it comes to news, politics and entertainment, it is a complex, strategic combination of first come first serve, mixed with loyalty to certain demographics. Some platforms are engineered to educate and encourage certain groups, while others intentionally inundate audiences with demeaning reports and stereotypical visuals. So, more specifically, what is the true reality and how does the public better interpret it? Let’s start with how it’s being done. How are people around the world being influenced with such efficiency, and how strong and controlled is the influence?
First, upwards of 90% of all major media outlets in the United States are controlled by only six corporations. To put that into perspective there are dozens and dozens of successful media outlets under the umbrella of bigger corporations.
The largest being Comcast, which has a revenue of $120 billion. As world events happen, more times than not the information is then filtered and tailored before it is handed to the public through one of the many subsidiary television networks, magazines, social media platforms or radio. For example, Universal Pictures, Dreamworks Animation, MSNBC, the USA Network and more, all well known, household name, billion dollar companies ranging from entertainment to news, are all under just one major corporation. Comcast. Other familiar entities such as Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar, Marvel Studios among others, are all under one corporation as well, The Walt Disney Company. With value totaling trillions and trillions of dollars, all of these billion dollar networks make up the foundation the half dozen powerhouse corporations in America responsible for entertaining and informing you. And all with one major goal. Yes, to make a profit, but also to establish a level of interconnected influence in order to steer global narratives and ultimately behavioral patterns.
When you begin to understand how centralized and controlled these corporations are in relation to these goals, it is important to understand the strategy unfolding right in front of your eyes. The tools for the most effective methods of influence are the news media, music, movies and television shows. The most effective tools for distraction are sports, wars, misinformation and induced fear. Primarily man-made diseases, regional conflicts etc. When you are highly entertained or highly fearful, two things tend to happen. It influences you to fall in line and do what everyone else around you are doing regardless of the lack of logic taken into consideration. Second, it effectively decreases the practice of free thought, which organically exposes signs of manipulation.
As information becomes much more freely accessible to citizens of the public across the world, the question then becomes what is your responsibility to make changes for the better when you learn more concrete truths? What can you do, what will you do, now that you know better? Nothing more than the same, or will you find a way to respond differently?
At some point the once accepted excuses of old run out. It is no secret how increasingly dangerous and illogical our societies are becoming. Even blatant lies are becoming more accepted than provable truths. It’s apparent in the over-sexualization in mainstream entertainment to include cartoons and fashion, influencing more adult behavior at much younger ages. Morals and character are becoming a thing of the past as worship of money, fame or attention in general is at an all time high. These are the results of the direction in which the public is being steered by these wealthy, well organized mechanisms of media.
